Huge concrete pour at Queensland base

Brisbane, June 26, 2011

A massive concrete pour has been completed at Fero's Queensland headquarters in Narangba.

After two years of hard effort, Fero Construction Manager Mario Angelocola reports that the last pour has been made.

"Yesterday was our last pour and we put in 980 sqm of concrete. "From the first shovel to now, it has been two years," he said.

The total pour for the site was about 12,000 sqm, using 3500 cubic metres of concrete.

The 32,000 sqm site contains a 5500 sqm building, which also required flooring.

Mr Angelocola said that in the last three weeks about eight or nine people had been busy laying the pads.

For the WA-based Construction Manager, it will be back to Perth to start more work at the Kewdale site.
