Annual Fero golf day a real hit

Friday, April 20, 2012 —

The annual Fero Golf Day was staged at the Burswood Golf Course in pleasant conditions, unlike the previous two years.

A large group teed off and some fine golf was seen, but probably by other golfers on the course!

Claiming the main trophies were Rob Franco (who also won closest to the pin),Steve Taddei, Rod Johns and Oliver Chessel with a tremendous gross of 65. They were three clear of second-placed Mark Scott, Chris Stimson, Michael Franco and Steve Kelly.

In third, also with 68 strokes, were Rick Marijanich, Martin Coolbear, Kim Barnard and Faz Pollard.

The NAGA award went to a shy trio of Chris Fitzgerald, Aaron Rathbone and Mark Rathbone with 83.

Tournament organiser Sam Griffiths praised the teams for their efforts, thanked the sponsors and trusted that Fero Group customers and preferred suppliers managed to meet on even terms, whether the golf course or the 19th.

A note to Steve (?): You won the longest drive but weren't there to collect your trophy. Check with Sam to make sure it wasn't "redrawn".

Thanks also to the Burswood staff, who made the event such a pleasant occasion.
