Fero super-sizes Brisbane bath

Brisbane, April 29, 2011

It’s not often that one gets enthusiastic about taking a bath but Fero relishes the opportunity with one of its latest projects — the commissioning of Australia's largest galvanising bath just north of Brisbane.

The 13m bath, 3m deep and 1.8m wide, is also the longest in Queensland, means that Fero can take on tougher jobs and supply the industry with high-specification work from its Narangba plant.

Queensland Fero Galv Sales Manager David Evans says the bath is capable of a 16-tonne lifting capacity and the fact that it is the longest in his State, means clients will be happier with the results.

“It’s the latest, state-of-the-art bath and gives Fero an edge in the Queensland market, especially around the Sunshine Coast-to-Gold Coast area. We also offer an overnight service, which is very attractive.

"It's the latest European automated technology in both process and environmental controls and we can double dip steel structures up to 20m in length," he said.

The huge investment in the Queensland market should reap huge benefits for clients and Fero alike.
