Fero Strata Systems :
In keeping with our on-going commitment to deliver new and better quality products at the most competitive price, we are currently awaiting delivery of three new production machines from Europe for the manufacture of shear pin solid bolts.

Designed to work in unison, the first machine will "peel" the reinforcing rib profile off the bar, while the next machine utilises the latest thread rolling technology to form a superior finish thread.

Thread rolling (rather than conventional thread cutting) produces a superior quality thread form with no chipping or tearing of the thread form thereby producing a more uniform and predictable load test result.

Once the threading operation is complete, the third machine will drill the transverse shear pin hole and fit the shearing pin with absolute precision.

Traditional styles of breakout nuts are known to have performance irregularities due to uneven crimping from worn tooling. This problem is not evident to visual inspection and is usually identified after bolts have been installed.

When securing solid bolts in resins it is critical that the break out pressure is consistent to ensure the resin has been thoroughly mixed prior to the breakout occurring. The rolled shear pin can produce consistent results giving peace of mind when installing bolts in resin.

This represents another very significant capital investment for the division and is further evidence of our quest to become market leaders rather than just status quo in ground support products.
